The Sumlin Group, Hickory, NC, has announced the formation of Basofil Solutions, LLC to supply and service the home furnishings industry.  The new company, which is sister to Basofil Fibers, LLC, will sell and market flame resistant yarns, fabrics, prefabricated parts and sewing thread utilizing Basofil heat and flame resistant fibers. Nathan Dry, a former R&D executive of Guilford Mills and more recently Cortina Fabrics will serve as president of Basofil Solutions, LLC.
    
Basofil Solutions, LLC will also sell and market Basofil Fibers’ patented Alessandra sheath core flame resistant yarns and fabrics.  Key end use markets include mattress barriers, top-of-the-bed furnishings, upholstered furniture and industrial applications.  
   
The company is  concentrating on products for the dynamic CPSC 16 CFR 1633 open flame standard for mattresses due July 1, 2007 and the top-of-the-bed requirements expected in 2010 with a full range of products to fulfill every need in these applications.
